Barry Brickell – Weaving a Personal Story of Art, Engineering and Conservation
Brief// Exhibition signage design development including main signage, guide system and exhibition space wall signage, plus brochure
Background: Barry was a Renaissance man. His diary excerpts show how seamless was the weaving of art, engineering and conservation into every day of his 80 years.
This exhibition shows the many sides of this extraordinary man through the objects he made and with which he surrounded himself. Combining a rugged determination with a restless creativity, his legacy stands around us: not only the pottery, sculpture and paintings in this exhibition but the buildings, the railway line snaking up the hill and the lush stands of native trees that will outlive us all.
Solution: Very urban and professional design approach, combining typewriter typeface with minimalistic elements as well as forms derived from the artist’s work.
